One of the things that impressed me most when I interviewed at Jawnt was the team's dedication to telling stories at the intersection of technology, transportation, and workplace benefits.
In my first year at Jawnt, I got to contribute to this effort by writing 25+ articles for the Jawnt blog, ranging from transportation-related op-eds to customer stories to viral transit nerd content. My favorite piece to date involved leading an in-depth analysis of Jawnt Pass transactions, organizing and visualizing the data in a Metabase dashboard, and developing an end-of-year story to showcase how commuters traveled in 2025.
I had just as much fun writing SQL queries as I did writing the piece itself and designing the accompanying graphics. The story further strengthened Jawnt's position as a thought leader in the commuter benefits space, and gave the team a reusable foundation for conducting similar analysis in the future.
